(Rachel was my typist for a number of the years when I did not have much use of my arms due to having ME/CFS.

It was such a wonderful day, Jill! The best bit was and is seeing the faces of those who had known me for years and never seen me walk before. And having conversations with people with whom I had never been able to talk properly before.

One of the many hard things about living with chronic illness is that people are unhappy to see you so ill. It is lovely that it is now the opposite.

And I just love busting people's ideas of what is possible merely by being able to stand up. People looked so happy.
