Spiritual Sadness and Joy
by Stephanie T
(IL)
Three Legs
Struggling to stay balanced, I did not know the cause of my pain
As I aged it just got harder to stay the same
I was missing something
Always one step behind the curtain, aloof from the world
To deny myself, deny my worth, when I was secretly the envy of many
I have a pureness bestowed onto me that is a blessing and a weight
In this world, joy amplifies through my body with pure light
and sadness shackles me down to my knees
I begin to realize I do not belong to this world
I have a mission which I yearn to remember
I want to channel the pain so others may smile
I now finally see I have always been sitting on a chair with three legs
And it is this miracle that I know: I was never alone in this fight

Poem About God - Loneliness Poems Self Worth Poems

GOD WITHIN ME
God within me,
God without,
How shall I ever be in doubt?
There is no place where I shall go,
And there not see God's face,
Not know I am God's vision and God's ears.
And so, through the harvest of the years,
I am God's sower and God's sown,
God's self unfolding and
God's own.
Anon
I just love this poem.
It kept coming into my mind today, so I thought I would put it on the site.
Loneliness and IllnessThe poem is fairly easy to learn. It eased loneliness and kept me company in a time of illness.
It reminds us that we are of value to God. It is so important to know we are still of value when our bodies stop us from acting physically in the world.
We are not alone. We cannot be separate from a God who is both immanent and transcendent in our lives.
This poem about God still keeps me company today.
I am His. :-)

Poem I will be there
by Gracie Bell
(Lancaster, Pa)
I
When the feeling of sadness overtakes your soul,
I will be there.
When the tears fall like raindrops,
I will be there.
When depression clouds your mind,
I will be there.
When the walls are closing in,
I will be there.
And when loneliness becomes your best friend,
I will be there.
I never promised your days would be without strife,
But I promise to always be by your side.
My love for you is unending,
And my heart breaks for you in your time of need.
I offer you peace.
I offer you love.
I offer you the Holy Spirit as a constant companion.
I offered you My son so that you may live.
My love for you is unending.
Just call upon My name.

I want to give my most gracious gratitude and praise thru tears of thankfulness and joy
in a time of uncertainty I am reminded to take refuge under the Most High
I have not the spirit of fear but hold on and take shelter under His wings and let His Angels take charge over me,
clear my path
hold to the spirit of faith
hold to the loving mercy and compassion of the most High
and receive the Holy Spirit the Father and the Son.
Amen
