Which treatment for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is advised by one holistic healing practitioner? Katherine T Owen finds out in the interview below.
Michael David Lawrience. is the author of the healing book, Emotional Health: The Secret for Freedom from Drama, Trauma, & Pain
Michael David Lawrience and I met in 2010 when we both took part in a spiritual author competition. A group of us became familiar with each other’s work. I was struck by Michael’s integrity and commitment to emotional healing. He has quite a story of his own, as you will see below. Michael lives what he teaches.
How can we heal chronic pain, as a step in treatment for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome /ME?
Many living with this illness do not have the physical help they need to rest. Do you have any advice on how sufferers of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome /ME can feel safer?Katherine:
Michael:
Fortunately I have never had Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS/ME). But I have experienced “burn out” twice in my life. In other words, I had expended my physical energy from overwork. As a consequence, I felt tired all the time. It took months to recover.
Emotional causes lie behind much physical disease. Healing the emotions can be a treatment for chronic fatigue syndrome - for both fatigue and other symptoms. I recommend EFT which works to bring both emotional and physical healing.
Gary developer of EFT – Emotional Freedom Technique says,
"To me, fibromyalgia and most other physical ailments are bodily manifestations or symptoms of unresolved fear, trauma, rejection, anger, guilt and other emotional causes. Take care of the emotional causes and the physical symptoms tend to fade."
I will further answer your question Katherine by sharing two case-studies for treatment for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome /ME which appear in my book.
Pat Gurnick tells of her long journey rebuilding her health after suffering for years with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia pain.
In some cases, like Pat’s, emotions may not be the core cause of the physical pain. The cause may be environmental like pesticides or molds.
In Pat’s recovery her body needed to be flushed of toxins.
This is how Pat handled her energy levels as a treatment for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS/ME).
"To this day, I rarely have pain from Fibromyalgia. As for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, I had a slow, gradual increase in vitality. I learned how to "live within the energy envelope” using a simple energy level rating scale of 1 to 10 and pacing myself to attain a better level of functioning,” says Pat.
"Initially, I went back and forth from remission to relapse, until I changed my lifestyle. No cure exists, the cause remains uncertain, yet I found once I adapted my lifestyle, I achieved greater health. I am well now."
Today, I have my life back. As a psychotherapist, and “survivor” of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia, I help others develop and adopt strategies like energy level management and self-pacing to function better on a daily basis and have a better quality of life.”
Pat through perseverance learned to overcome the challenges of CFS and fibromyalgia.
Through her power of choice she discovered positive ways to manage her energy levels as a treatment for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome /ME.
She also chose to use her life experience and learning in service for the easing of pain and suffering in others with similar conditions.
Pat learned a valuable lesson of loving her body and herself.
Pat describes and lists all the medical and other alternative medical methods she investigated and used over years in my book.
Here is another example of treatment for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome /ME.
Paul Davis, an acupuncturist, says,
"As my spiritual journey progressed, I went through changes in my energy levels. The symptoms of chronic fatigue started for me in my early twenties and lasted for about ten years.
I suffered a major collapse at thirty in which I could not work for several months. This started me on a study of alternative health leading to certification as an acupuncturist. In 1994, when I opened up my physical, emotional, and sexual nature, my energy improved.
I maintained a good diet and did a lot more exercise over the next few years. In addition, a regime of radionic remedies removed miasmas, low-grade viral infections, parasites, and heavy metals.
Several healers, including hands-on healers, assisted me in releasing a heavy load of trapped emotion, old agreements, implants, entities, and fear based beliefs."

Michael:
I have many examples in my book of methods to heal chronic pain. Here is one.
Lana, like many women, experienced severe headaches as the menstrual cycle occured.
"My head felt as if seized in a vise grip," says Lana.
Being on a spiritual path Lana realized the shutting down of the crown chakra at the top of her head contributed in a major way to the headaches.
"Often my crown shut down. At these times, I would often be going through rapid emotional changes, which brought up fears. Once I understood the root of the fear and released it, the pain lifted.” Lana also had sharp discomfort, for several years, in the area of the heart chakra in her back.
"The area between my shoulder blades ached, whenever my heart chakra expanded, indicating trapped emotions. For example, when I received Shiatsu, a type of acupressure massage, and the therapist ran healing energy through the sore spot in my back memories arose. These included childhood sorrows. At other times, scenes of old tortures and wounds from past lifetimes sprang before my eyes. I breathed with the energy releasing the pain.” As a core energy healer, Lana knows she needs energy healing for her own personal emotional issues. She also uses other methods.
"I release the fear and pain behind my physical discomforts through hands-on healing including Bowen Therapy, meditation, exercise such as walking and yoga, and breath work such as breathing through my heart.
My lifelong depression and wishing to die have been replaced by a love of life, trust, and joy."

Katherine:
Rest is an advised treatment for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome /ME. But many living with this illness do not have the physical help they need to rest.
Michael:
I will address the spiritual core of the safety issue since I understand it in myself.
I felt unsafe with my father’s unpredictable behavior and anger; his drunken anger shook my tranquility. Calmness, unlike true inner peace, resulted from intervals when my mother refrained from fighting with my father about his drinking. The family atmosphere could change in an instant from depressed silence, which everyone in the family lived in as a false cocoon of safety, to an all-out vicious verbal combat between my parents. I kept myself out of the line of attack by learning to become invisible. For years after, I always become hyper-vigilant, never feeling safe.
As an energy healer, I understand that some people’s inner child splits off because of trauma. In other words, part of our child dissociates and lives outside of our energy field because they felt unsafe in their environment.
This results in us as adults seldom feeling safe. When we become ready some alternative healer who has experience with the inner child healing can invite the child back to heal, reintegrate, and ground into our bodies. Some call this an aspect of Soul Retrieval.

Spiritual practice is also relevant.
Spiritual practice can move us towards a sense of peace within ourselves.
A sense of peace brings greater healing than physical healing.
A sense of peace creates an environment within which physical healing will sometimes follow.
